Products made by Apple have always been associated with relaiabilty and stability. Sure – equipment from American gigant show a relative reliability against the competition but it does not mean that they do not get damaged. As every electronic equipment it is exposed to failures resulting from mechanical damage or software issues.

It would be very naive to believe that situation where your iPhone will stop working won’t ever come. Reasons and sources for that could be more than a couple. Connect your phone to know-working charger

In older generation of phones from bitten Apple logo, sudden battery percentage drop was common issue. Usually it has been related to strong exploitation of the device, running many apps, bluetooth or other services so that the iPhone would overheat and would show wrong battery charge percentage.

So, if iPhone suddenly have discharged, you should connect it to the charger. In this moment, on your screen there should have come up a graphic presenting battery with red line. When phone is charged up to 5 percent, then it can be switched on.

If the device is still not responding, follow the next steps.

 

Restart your iPhone

By that we mean so called „soft reset”. What ever generation o iPhone you have, it is switched on and off in same way, all we have to do is hold „Power” button for couple of seconds. When the phone is switched off it should switch on, after holding „power” button, if it has been running on you should see a slider on your screen.

Hard Reset

iPhone X: press the volume up button and quickly release it, then press the volume down button and also release it quickly, then press the switch and keep it pressed until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
iPhone 8 / iPhone 8 Plus: press the volume up button and quickly release it, then press the volume down button and quickly release it, at this point, press and hold the Power button until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 Plus: press the Sleep / Wake button and the volume down button for at least 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.
For older models from the iPhone 4S: press the Sleep / Wake and Start buttons and hold them for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

In some cases, when iPhone does not react to Hard reset, you may try doing it while it is connected to the charger.

Restore iPhone to factory settings

Before following this step, you need to have in mind that this method will erase everything from the memory of your phone, including settings and files. You need to make sure that you have a backup. If everything is ready all you have to do is connect your device to the computer and run iTunes then select option „restore”
